This schematic design was commissioned by I Learn Matters Foundation. They build and renovate early childhood learning centres in Central Asia. Our design was to create 4 classrooms and weather play areas for these remote mountain areas especially when heavy winter snow and Spring avalanches disconnected them from the rest of the world. The closure of roads means there are concerns for the residents’ food security especially fresh produce, so our design envisioned the whole centre to be under the roof of a greenhouse where communal gardening can secure a little fresh produce for families and this will become a hub for the community to gather.
